Kuna Melba News - Kuna's wrestling program is producing champions, results

.

The Kuna varsity wrestling team finished in sixth place at this weekend’s Rollie Lane Tournament, held at the Idaho Center.

Casey Cobb and Michael Cook each finished in first place in the 98-pound and 120-pound divisions, respectively.

Cook is now a two-time Rollie Lane champion, having won the tournament last year at 103 pounds. The defending state champion and Kuna sophomore also received the Outstanding Wrestler Award in the lightweight classes.

Kuna’s sixth-place finish made a bold statement, as Kuna’s finish was the highest among all Treasure Valley teams.

In all, 42 teams from Idaho, Nevada, Oregon and Washington competed.

Kuna finished behind teams from Lowry, Nevada; Lewiston; Hermiston, Ore.; Green Valley, Nevada; and Post Falls.

The Kavemen finished ahead of Centennial, Columbia, Coeur d’Alene, Caldwell and Mountain View.
